Mrs. Ruby Bentley Broom, age 91, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Broom was born April 9, 1917 in Temple, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. Calvin Bentley and the late Mrs. Nora Bell Smith Bentley. She worked in the textile industry. Mrs. Broom was a member of Draketown Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Broom was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Emory Broom, son, Larry Broom, brother, Harvey Bentley and five sisters, Tressie Tate, Lois Easterwood, Grace Wix, Ruth Hulsey and Katherine Land. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Max Walker of Temple, 1 grandchild, Jill and Randall Griggs of Temple ; 2 great-grandchildren, Jamie and Lindsey Griggs of Bremen and Colby Griggs of Temple. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Bro. Doug Weaver, Bro. Horace Wilson and Bro. Jerry Hollis officiating. Interment will be in Melrose Hills Memorial Park in Paulding County. The following will serve as pall bearers Jamie Griggs, Colby Griggs, Charles Broom, Ray Hollis, Wade Sudduth and Jimmy Roseberry. The following will serve as honorary pall bearers, C. D. Bryson, Burnell Cole, Tom Lautner and John Bentley. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to; Altus Healthcare & Hospice, 151 A Bay Springs Road, Villa Rica, Georgia 30180. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com. Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Villa Rica is in charge of arrangements.
