Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Hamrick Daniell, age 96, of Rome, Georgia passed away Friday, September 07, 2012. She was born February 2, 1916 in Villa Rica, Georgia, eldest of eight children of the late Mr. Walter Terrell Hamrick and the late Irene Bennett Hamrick. Her family moved from Villa Rica to Austell following her and her sister Lottieâs graduation from Villa Rica High School. She married Hampton Jackson âJackâ Daniell from Villa Rica on August 7, 1940. After her marriage she and Jack lived in Atlanta, Greenville, S.C., West Palm Beach, FL and had been in Rome, Georgia since 1950. She was always a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of South Broad United Methodist Church. After her husbandâs death, she and Deanne moved to the Renaissance Marquis Retirement Residence in Rome from their home of fifty years in Maplewood. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hampton Jackson âJackâ Daniell on March 18, 2008; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Lottie and John Brown, Louise and Calvin âBudâ Heath, Nell and Otis âMitchâ Mitchell; brother, Walter Terrell Hamrick, Jr.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sue Hamrick, Lorene and W. O. Smith; Elizabeth and Charles âChuckâ Phillips; brother-in-law, Ralph Prosser. She is survived by her daughter, Deanne Elizabeth Daniell of Rome; sister, Hazel Prosser; brothers, William Robert âBobâ Hamrick, Joseph âJoeâ Bennett Hamrick. Several nieces, nephews and special friend, Nan Hendricks also survive. Her beloved cats, Angel and Starburst also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Monday, September 10, 2012 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, September 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Norv Havens officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Villa Rica.
