Mrs. Ruth Hembree Morris, 72, of Highway 166, Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008. A Douglas County Native, she was born January 2, 1936 in the Fairplay Community, the daughter of the late Mr. Johnny Hembree and the late Mrs. Alma Kimball Hembree. She married John Horace Morris on November 10, 1967 in Carroll County, Georgia. She was a member of the Douglas Chapel Church of God. She worked at Bressler Brothers Company as a seamstress for over 35 years and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and reading. She especially enjoyed reading her Bible. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, John Morris; sisters, Lois Johnson, Mozelle Price, and Gladys Pate; brothers, Herman Hembree and Fred Hembree. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Horace Morris of Douglasville; son, Simon Anthony âTonyâ Barber of Douglasville; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Denise and Ronnie Littles of Powder Springs; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Cathy Morris of Woodland, AL, Larry Morris of Douglasville, and Anthony and Sandy Morris of Kennesaw; sisters, Wilma Strickland of Winston and Earlene Bennett of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Louise Hembree of Villa Rica; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. sister in-laws, Sara Cantrell of Douglasville , Monta Raye Hembree of Winston. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, May 16, 2008 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. James Massengale and Minister Mike Mallory officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
