Ruth Lanell (Daniell) Harris

Mrs. Ruth Lanell Daniell Harris, 84, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Tranquility Hospice in Austell, Georgia. She was born May 14, 1925, in Douglasville, Georgia, the daughter of the late Clifford A. Daniell and the late Verna Mary Watkins Daniell. She enjoyed being a long time employee of Liberty Grocery Store in Birmingham, Alabama and later as a homemaker who loved her family dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Glen Harris; son, Bobby Watkins; sisters, Genola Daniell and Lavoy Morris; brothers, Bernard Daniell, Eugene Daniell, and Charles Daniell. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Ann Meadows of Douglasville, Georgia, and Mary Nell Harding of Carrollton, Georgia; two sons and daughter in law, Don and Cheryl Harris of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Larry Harris of Birmingham, Alabama; four sisters and brother in law, Cornelia Hudson of Allatoona, Georgia, Shirley Ledford of Villa Rica, Georgia, Betty Curl of Birmingham, Alabama, and Patricia and Roy Marable of Douglasville, Georgia; four brothers and sisters in law, Perry and Phyllis Daniell of Douglasville, Georgia, Tommy and Linda Daniell of Temple, Georgia, Mickey and Ruth Daniell of Douglasville, Georgia, and Roy and Debby Daniell of Heflin, Alabama; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Watters officiating. Musical selections will be rendered by Terry Pearson. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 19, 2010, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
