Sallie Mae James Tucker

Mrs. Sallie Mae James Tucker, age 83, of Winston, Georgia passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Heartland Hospice following an extended illness. A Douglas County native, she was born May 2, 1924 the daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Herbert James and the late Mrs. Idella Couch James. She was a lifetime member of County Line Baptist Church. She worked as a clerk at Lamar’s Clothing Company in Austell and retired as office manager at F.W. Woolworth. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of her family, cooking, crossword puzzles and was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Monroe Tucker on September 18, 2003; sisters, Mary James Tucker, Betty Dycus, Margaret Overcash, and Corene Reese. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Verna and Jesse McFall of Winston; sister, Jean Boyd of Austell; three grandchildren, John and Sandra McFall, Jamie and Renae McFall and Janet and Jeff Thomason; four great-grandchildren, Stephanie Thrower, Bryan Wesley McFall, Sarah Elizabeth McFall, and Ryan Scott Thomason; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, December 28, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. Quinn Evans officiating and Mr. Tommy E. Tucker rendering the eulogy. Interment will follow at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery. The following will serve as pallbearers: Ronnie Overcash, Jerry Tucker, Roger Tucker, Jimmy Hamm, Noble Lawler, and Charles Turner. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Those desiring to do so may make contributions in memory of Mrs. Tucker to the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1814 North County Line Road, Lithia Springs, Georgia 30122.
