Sally Leanne Moore

Sally Leanne Moore, 77, of Newnan, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026. She was born on November 25, 1948.

Sally will be remembered as a woman whose life was centered on the people she loved most. She was deeply devoted to her son, her grandchildren, her family, and her friends. She cherished the time spent together above all else. Her love for Christ and family shaped the spirit of her days and remains a lasting part of the memory she leaves behind.

She found joy in the simple and enduring pleasures of life. Sally enjoyed camping and felt especially at home singing by the campfire. Music was one of her great pleasures, and she had a special fondness for Conway Twitty. In her later years, she also enjoyed watching murder mystery shows.

Sally is preceded in death by her husband, William Steve Moore and her parents, Homer and ID Wright; step mother, Vara Wright; brothers James “Bo” Wright, Buddy Wright; sisters, Norma Simpkins, Sarah Pitts, Jeanette Wright, and Sue Woodard.

She is survived by her son, Scott (Marna) Moore of Newnan, Georgia; Sisters in law, Mary Nell Hendrix of Franklin, Georgia, Jan (J. L.) Meacham of Newnan, Georgia, Jean Gothard of Jemison, Alabama, Gail Wright of Dallas, Georgia, and Sara Wright of Roopville, Georgia; Brothers in law, Garey (Joan) Moore of Houston, Texas and Jerry Woodard of Franklin, Georgia; grandchildren, Morgan, Donnie(Hayley); and a great- grandchild, Dawn Millie. Also left to cherish her memory are a gaggle of nieces and nephews.

Above all, Sally will be remembered for the love and joy that filled the room, the commitment she had for her family and friends, and her stubborn determination. The moments shared with her, whether in conversation, in laughter, in music, or simply in being together, will remain treasured by those who knew and loved her.

The family of Mrs. Sally Moore will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Georgia on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM, and the funeral service will follow beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Sunrise Gardens of Memories following the service.
