Sammy Donald “Donnie’ Nichols, 80, of Douglasville, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024. He was born on September 6, 1944 in Newnan, Georgia, the son of the late I.J. Nichols and Audrey Burgess Nichols.
Donnie was known for his fun-loving spirit and infectious laughter. He had a carefree disposition making him a cherished companion and friend. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army. For over forty-six years, Donnie dedicated himself to his work at ADT. In his leisure time, Donnie found great solace and joy in fishing, gardening and visiting the mountains
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Casper Nichols, Bobby Nichols, and David Nichols; sister, Doris Mims.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra McMullen Nichols; brother, Paul Nichols; sisters-in-law, Pat Starr, Carolyn Bell, Brenda Holland and Jean Holcomb; nieces and nephews, Lynne Simpson, Anne Nichols, Felicia Nichols, Danny Nichols, Kevin Nichols, Greg Nichols, Chris Nichols, Reggie Nichols, Laurie Collins, Mandy Brown, Eddie Nichols, Angie Moody, and Pat Mims.
In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated. There are no further arrangements at this time.
Contributions can be made to the Lung Cancer Association or Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Donnie Nichols.
