Mr. Samuel Lee Evans, 45, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He was born July 15, 1960 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of Mr. Otis Evans and Betty Sudduth Johnson. He married Kristi Hendrix on December 31, 1988 in Austell, Georgia. He was of the Church of God Faith and worked for the Atlanta Journal Constitution for over 16 years. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He enjoyed football and Nascar Racing. He is survived by his wife, Kristi Hendrix Evans of Douglasville; one daughter, Kayla Evans of Douglasville and one son, Ryan Evans of Douglasville; mother and step-father, Betty and Jim Johnson of Talking Rock; father and step-mother, Otis and Betty Evans of Douglasville; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and Alan Norton of Mableton, Deborah and Phil Keaton of Mims, FL, Donna and Randy Locke of Douglasville and Cindy and Derrick Goolsby of Douglasville; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Kim Evans of Douglasville; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Locke and Pastor Phil Keaton officiating. Musical Selections will be rendered by Tiffany Trotter. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park. The following will serve as pallbearers: Alan Norton, Jerry Albertson, John Waycaster, Justin Locke, Donnie Smith and Scott Mitchell. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Friday, April 21, 2006 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
