Samuel Moreland

January 21, 1943 — February 9, 2016

Mr. Samuel Methard Moreland, age 73, of Austell, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016. He was born January 21, 1943 in Carroll County the son of the late Mr. Methard Moreland and the late Mrs. Tena Brown Moreland. He retired from Crown, Cork and Seal Company after 20 plus years of service. Mr. Moreland served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was an avid Falcons Fan who loved to watch old western shows, such as Bonanza and Gun Smoke. He loved sharing old stories of his brothers and sisters growing up, fishing, and most of all his family. He was a family man whom taught his children well. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Moreland. He is survived by his wife, Rugina Parham Moreland of Austell; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight and Tangulia Moreland of Austell, Mark and Robin Moreland of Lithia Springs, Marcel and Karen Moreland of Douglasville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Linda Moreland of Bowdon Junction, Jackie and Rosemary Moreland of Bowdon Junction, Tommy and Linda Moreland of Bowdon Junction, Michael and Barbara Moreland of Bowdon Junction; sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Tony Kight of Decatur; grandchildren, Dwight Moreland, Jr., Dwayne Moreland, Marcel Moreland, Jr. , Kylee Grace Moreland. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and several extended family members also survive. The Moreland family would like to extend their appreciation to Denise Montes, Robert Moreland, and Terry Parham for their love and unwavering support. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 4850 Ewing Road, Austell, GA 30106.
