Samuel Stikeleather

Mr. Samuel “Sam” Louis Stikeleather, age 80, of Lithia Springs passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012. He was born December 2, 1931 in Asheville, NC, the son of the late Mr. Elmer Foy Stikeleather and the late Mrs. Mildred Friedman Stikeleather. He was retired from Delta Airlines after many years of service. Mr. Stikeleather served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a Shriner and member of the Masonic Lodge in Forest Park, Georgia. He attended St. Julian’s Episcopal Church in Douglasville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Wallace Stikeleather; daughter, Leesa Stikeleather Duke; brothers, Elmer Stikeleather, Jr., Harold Stikeleather and sister, Arline Long. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Mel Halfon of Hiawassee; sisters-in-law, Vivian Stikeather of Asheville and Edna Stikeleather of Jupiter, Fl; five grandchildren, Jacob Halfon, Raybon Halfon, Douglas Ide, Corey and Jennifer Duke and Brentt Duke; three great-grandchildren, Madison Duke, Caleb Duke and Kaylee Duke. Special friend, Charlie Sees also survive. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the St. Julian’s Episcopal Church in Douglasville, with Rev. Stewart Tabb officiating. The family will receive friends at the St. Julian’s Episcopal Church in Douglasville Saturday, July 28, 2012 following the service. In lieu of flowers the family would like contributions to be made to the St. Julian’s Episcopal Church, 5400 Stewart Mill Road, Douglasville, GA, 30135 or Tranquility Hospice, 4040 Hospital West Drive, Austell, GA 30106.
