Sandra Schlief

Mrs. Sandra Wynona Mathis Schlief, 75, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, August 20, 2018. She was born March 16, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Everett Carroll Mathis and Mrs. Lizzie Louise Casteel Mathis Montgomery. She was a member of Fullerville Baptist Church in Villa Rica. She loved gospel music, bible studies, camping, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Dorsey Montgomery; and brothers, Norman Mathis and Butch Mathis. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert “Bob” Schlief of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Jeff Jenkins of Douglasville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Melinda Schlief of West Blocton, AL, Danny and Teresa Schlief of Holt, FL, and Rodney and Shanna Schlief of Tallapoosa, GA; brother, Richard Mathis of Centre, AL; twelve grandchildren, Kim Jenkins, Chad Jenkins, Jordan Schlief, Trista Floyd, Angel Hatcher, Brad Schlief, Amy Sellars, Patrick Penna, Katie Schlief, Gavin Goodrich, Alex Goodrich, and Colin Goodrich; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Fullerville Baptist Church in Villa Rica with Rev. Steve Swafford officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM. Interment will be private at Georgia Memorial Park.
