Mrs. Sara Cox Williams, 79, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018. She was born September 17, 1939 in Walker County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Mr. Velton Cox and the late Mrs. Rose Kendrick Cox.She worked for 30 years at Arrow Shirt Company in Bremen, Georgia. Then, at the age of 50, she went back to school and became a LPN and worked at Tanner Higgins for 11 1/2 years. She was a godly woman, whose love for the Lord was evident. She was a long-time, active member of Flat Rock Baptist Church in Villa Rica. She enjoyed sewing and gave gifts to many friends and family members. She also donated hand-made items to charity. She had the gift of hospitality, cooking and hosting meals for friends and family in her home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Herbert “Rabbit” Williams, three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Cox, Mrs. Bessie Cochran, and Mrs. Dean Gardner, and three brothers, Mr. Bill Cox, Mr. Jessie Matthews, and Mr. Lowell Cox.Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Tom Duncan; grandsons, Sgt. Matthew Duncan and wife, Sherri-Lyn and Rev. Blake Duncan and his wife, Emily, all of Villa Rica; brother, Larry Cox and wife, Joy, of Dallas, Georgia. Special nieces and nephew, Brenda Hand of Carrollton, Judy Windom of Villa Rica, and Lisa and Jeff Pate of Villa Rica, and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews also survive.The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Friday, December 14, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Brown and Rev. Ronnie Puckett officiating. Interment will follow at Abilene Cemetery with Rev. Anthony Puckett officiating.
