Sarah Cook

Mrs. Sarah Edwards Cook, age 104 of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Benton House of Douglasville. She was born February 8, 1915 in Jackson, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. William Lawrence Edwards and the late Mrs. Sarah Roena Edwards Barbee. Mrs. Cook was a homemaker, who loved her family dearly, taking care of them for years and years and supporting them in every way. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, James Irby Cook; her daughter, Myrna Fain; her brothers, W. L. Edwards, Jr., A. D. Edwards, Charles B. Edwards, Glen U. Edwards and Morris Ridley Edwards; and her sister, Mary Eddis Edwards Moore. Mrs. Cook is survived by her daughter, Judy Cook of Douglasville; her sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Emily Cook of Orlando, Florida and Jim and Janet Cook of Douglasville; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 11:00AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Douglasville.
