Sarah Willis Tyson

Mrs. Sarah Willis Tyson, age 85, of Winston, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009. She was born May 17, 1924 in Douglasville, Georgia to the late Mr. Walter Tolbert Willis and the late Mrs. Mattie Lou Willis. Mrs. Tyson retired from Lockheed as a wiring-fabricator, having worked on the B-29 Bomber during World War II. She was a loving mother and grandmother, always enjoying time with her family. She was a fantastic cook known for her chocolate pudding and homemade biscuits. Her time was often spent outdoors where she enjoyed gardening and flowers, or inside reading or cooking. Mrs. Tyson was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Tyson is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jack Tyson. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Lynn and Kenneth Garnto of Winston, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law Randy and Yvonne Tyson of Monroe, Georgia; a granddaughter, Joey Nesbit; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of the Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Isennock officiating. Interment will follow at Ephesus Baptist Church in Winston, Georgia. The family will receive friends Monday, November 23, 2009 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM from at the Douglas Chapel.
