Mrs. Scarlet O'Hara Padgett, age 78, of Bremen, passed away, Thursday, March 17, 2022. She was born May 18, 1943 in Birmingham, AL the daughter of the late Mr. Lenord Rube Evans and the late Mrs. Maudie Alice Irene Laney Evans. Mrs. Padgett worked in the restaurant industry for many years. She loved to sing, dance and go fishing. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life. She enjoyed cooking and providing for her family. She was a long time member of Pentecostal Holiness and Victory Tabernacle Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Harold Padgett; sons, Christopher Harold Padgett and James Joseph Padgett; several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Tony Rutledge of Bremen; Shirley and Ricky Hollis of Bremen, Susan Padgett of Bremen; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Harold Prichard of Bremen; brothers and sister-in-law, Kenneth Evans, Fate and Peggy Evans, Willard Evans of Villa Rica; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, March 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Luke officiating. Interment will follow at Asbury Cemetery in Temple.
