Scott Bradley Rainwater

Scott Bradley Rainwater, 68, of Lithia Springs, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. He was born on November 4, 1957 in Austell, Georgia to Mr. Terry Goodwin Rainwater and the late Mrs. Dolores Marie Smith Rainwater.

Scott was a proud member of the United States Navy, where he served upon the USS Nimitz. He lived with his parents and brothers in Tehran and Shiraz, Iran, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Pretoria, South Africa. Scott was a talented electrician for 30 years, where he excelled in serving others. He loved the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, coaching softball, watching his kids play sports and participating in music and sports themed trivia nights. Scott also enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels and tending to his tomato garden in his free time. Those who knew Scott described him as a thoughtful and genuine family man; he had a way with words that made people feel comfortable no matter what. He found joy in making others laugh and smile.

He is preceded in death by his mother and grandson, Aaron Godfrey.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mrs. Judith Rainwater; father, Mr. Terry Goodwin (Charlotte) Rainwater; son, Jacob Rainwater; daughters and sons-in-law, Victoria (Cole) Foster, Jessica (Joe) Godfrey and Vallon (Jeffrey) Carlile; brother and sister-in-law, Mark (Tina) Rainwater; Niece and Nephew, Ashley Rainwater and Bryan (Premis) Rainwater; as well as 16 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Lithia Springs Methodist Church.
