Scott Richard Helms

Mr. Scott Richard Helms, age 44, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019. He was born June 25, 1975 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of Richard Scott Helms and Beverly Kay Stilley Helms-Nunz. Mr. Helms worked for Staples as an office supply delivery driver. He enjoyed caving, hunting, fishing, softball, golf and weight-lifting. He competed and promoted the Strongman competitions. Mr. Helms served as a youth minister for several years at Cross Plains Christian Church in Carrollton. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vester and Ruth Stilley and J.W. Helms. Mr. Helms is survived by his mother, Beverly Kay Stilley Helms-Nunz of Douglasville; his father, Richard Scott Helms of Hiram; paternal grandmother, Syble Helms of Austell; Dane Garreau of Carrollton; his cousins, youth group family and friends also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville with Ministers Jeff Pate and Jeff Beckham officiating.
