Sean Stanley Babrow, 47, fell asleep in death on November 14, 2023.
He was born in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands in 1976 to Glanville McClean Babrow, Sr. and Jeanette Babrow. Sean loved his parents dearly. He would usually be seen working along side his father learning electronics or the inner workings of a car or just saying, “Dad, what do you need help with?” He always checked in on his parents and would call his mother and ask, “Mom, what do you need? I’m stopping by the store, what can I get for you?” He always ensured that his parents were good before heading out for the day.
Sean’s ability to grasp technical configurations and his deep love for others stemmed from his father and mother. As a child, Sean was always inquisitive and had a natural tenacity for electronics. During his youth, he would often dismantle electronics from VCRs to stereos and speakers. When he was about 12, Sean designed and built his first red light, green light panel board. With a wooden board, two light bulbs, switches, speaker wire, and a Duracell battery. This was the launching pad that developed into his passion and career.
Sean’s love for electronics and technology was evident with the gifts he would give to his nephews and nieces. When Kyle was about 2, instead of the typical toy you would think a 2 year old would want, Sean bought him a Montessori busy board to help Kyle learn how to create electric connections in order to activate lights and motors on the switchboard. This was just one of many gifts in technology that Sean wanted to share with his family as part of his legacy. His love for science was evident as well, when he took his nephews and nieces to the Fernbank Museum, teaching them interesting facts about science and technology.
Sean will always be remembered for his brilliant mind and the way that he loved for and cared for his family and friends. We will always imagine hearing him say, “Yo, What up?!” When he entered a room. We couldn’t have asked for a better son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, colleague, and we will miss Sean every day. His memory will continue to live in the hearts of all those who loved him.
Sean is survived by his parents, Glanville and Jeanette Babrow, Sr. of Douglasville, GA; siblings, Shonna [Frankie] Atwater of Dallas, GA, Glanville Babrow, Jr. of Beaumont, CA, Cristal [Nic] Foster of Dacula, GA, and David [Amber] Babrow of Apple Valley, CA; grandmother, Luellen Williams; paternal aunts and uncles, Claude [Adelle] Vicars, Oliver [Cynthia] Babrow, Carol Francis, Gwen [John] Rivera, and Daisy [Eric] Barnum; maternal aunts and uncles, A.
