Shari Roma Watkins-Mihalic

Shari Roma Watkins-Mihalic, 63, of Douglasville, GA passed away on July 15, 2025. She was born in the fall of 1961, in Atmore, Alabama, to the late Mr. McGill Watkins and the late Mrs. Helen Warren Watkins. 

Shari was an individual whose intelligence, wit, and engaging conversation skills left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She was a retired accountant who dedicated over 30 years to her profession.  As an accountant, Shari was detail oriented, a skill she used to manage the household and to plan numerous travels over the years.

Shari’s educational journey culminated in a bachelor’s degree, a testament to her commitment to learning and growth. She carried her passion for knowledge into her retirement, where her interests blossomed.  In retirement, she enjoyed camping with her  husband and two dogs at Georgia's State Parks.  An avid reader, Shari had a deep appreciation for literature, and her love for European travel opened her eyes to diverse cultures and experiences. She enjoyed live theater and was a true art enthusiast, taking pride in her membership at the High Museum of Art, which reflected her passion for creativity and expression. Shari also remained very involved in current events, showcasing her dedication to being an informed citizen.

Shari is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Mr. Louis Martin Mihalic Jr. who stood by her through life's many journeys.  She is also survived by her dogs Joby and Ella whom she adored.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Lewis McGill Watkins, Jr.

As we remember Shari, we honor a remarkable woman whose legacy of intelligence, humor, and passion for life will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who cherish the memorable moments shared together.

In accordance with her wishes Shari will be cremated and no public service is planned at this time. If desired, donations may be made to NPR or the ACLU.
