Mrs. Sherlie Ann (Blackburn) Bowen, age 62, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away on May 20, 2009 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on June 26, 1946 the daughter of the late Mr. Carmel Blackburn and the late Mrs. Daisy Fannin Blackburn. A longtime resident of Douglasville, Mrs. Bowen was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was an avid bowler and homemaker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Janice Grace Blackburn Davis. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Delmer Bowen; daughter and son-in-law Michelle Lanette and Michael Landon Jordan; sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Larry Pemberton of Harrison, Tennesee; brother and sister-in-law Darren and Dee Blackburn of Clyde, Ohio; granddaughter Savannah Paige Jordan; nieces Melissa Taylor, Stephanie Bustamente; nephew Justin Blackburn; great nieces Shelby and Alexis Taylor and Raegan Blackburn; beloved family friends Mike and Beth Blanks and their two very special children Ashley McKenna and Kyle Reese Blanks. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home in Inez, Kentucky. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour. The family will be receiving friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Friday, May 22, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Compassionate Care Hospice, 4340 Georgetown Square, Suite 608, Atlanta, GA 30338.
