Sherry Rae Bond, 79, of Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026 in Alabama. She was born on January 25, 1947, the daughter of the late John Howard Combes, Jr. and the late Clara June Hughes.
Sherry lived a life characterized by deep faith and profound love for her family. Sherry’s greatest love was for her family—her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her heart and home. She cherished every moment spent with them. Those who knew her witnessed a woman of unshakeable faith and she faced life’s final chapter without fear, as a devoted daughter of God.
She adored her cat Max, whose companionship was a part of her daily life. Sherry often enjoyed the quiet comfort of her couch, where she relished in taking naps, wrapped in the peaceful embrace of her favorite pajamas and slippers. Her fondness for the color yellow was a small but bright reflection of the joy she carried within.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Jodi Allgood and the father of her children, George “Dev” Ormiston.
She is survived by her children, Raquel Wisener (Shane) of Villa Rica, Amie Willis of Villa Rica, Jeremy Ormiston (Monica) of Guntersville, Marc Ormiston of Athens; son-in-law, Dennis Allgood of Bremen; sisters, Kay Richter of Illinois, Kathie Owens of Florida, Nan Gorham (Roger) of Arizona; grandchildren, Kenneth, Arielle, Hillary, Emily, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Sam, Alyson, Justin, and Addison; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel with funeral services conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Temple.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Brandon Allgood, Sam Allgood, Shane Wisener, Dennis Allgood, Marc Ormiston, and Jeremy Ormiston.
Sherry Rae Bond leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and gentle strength. She will be remembered not only for the warmth she extended to her family but also for the quiet dignity with which she lived her life.
Though she has departed from this earthly life, the memories of her kindness and devotion will endure in the hearts of all who knew her. May her soul rest in eternal peace
