Sherry Jean Townsend, 71, of Douglasville, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024. She was born on June 30, 1953, the daughter of the late James Sneed and the late Mary Freeman Sneed.
Sherry was a woman who truly embodied strength and patience, leaving a remarkable legacy through her unwavering dedication to family, friends, and faith.
Sherry's kind personality touched the lives of many. She was known for her incredible decorating skills, and she had a special talent for making every occasion feel festive and warm. Her passion carried over into the kitchen, where she enjoyed baking and cooking. Friends and family alike cherished her homemade treats.
Throughout the years, Sherry became a mother figure to many, offering guidance and support to those who needed it. Her nurturing nature made her a cherished confidante and a source of strength for her extended family and friends. The impact she made in the lives of others is a testament to her generous heart and unwavering commitment to those around her.
She was active member of her church. Sherry devoted herself wholeheartedly to her faith community. She found purpose in serving and uplifting others, embracing the joy of fellowship and connection.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Townsend; daughter, Julia Brinkley of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Dee Brinkley of Salisbury, North Carolina; grandchildren, Hunter Braddy, Amber Braddy and Everleigh Brinkley; sister, Regina Sneed of Hendersonville, Tennessee; niece Jacqueline Carman.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM on December 16, 2024 at Jones-Wynn Douglas Chapel with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating.
Flowers are accepted, however, contributions can also be made to Douglas County Humane Society.
Sherry Jean Townsend leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, strength and patience that she so beautifully represented. As we honor her life, we are comforted by the countless memories and the enduring love she shared.
