Sherry Ilene Watkins

Mrs. Sherry Ilene Watkins, age 81, of Douglasville passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024. She was born December 26, 1942 in Trion, GA to the late Clarence Dunaway and the late Mrs. Minnie Hardigree.

Sherry was a dedicated bus driver for Cobb County schools for over 25 years. Her passion extended far beyond her career. She found joy in camping under the stars, showcasing her cooking skills in the kitchen, and cherishing precious moments with her beloved family. Her love for nature was evident through her admiration for butterflies and her cherished dogs who held a special place in her heart.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her great grandson, Ethan Anderson; sister, Glenda Bennett; brother, Lathaniel Dunaway; former husband, Warner “Nig” Gerald Watkins.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Uttley; daughter, Susan (Eric) Moody of Dallas; sons, Scott (Tambra) Watkins and Kevin (Renee) Watkins both of Lithia Springs; grandchildren, Caitlin Kilpatrick (Bobby Light), Garrett Kilpatrick (Bridget Beaty), Tara (Malcolm) Phillips; Bobby (Samantha) Watkins, Travis (Lauren) Watkins, Elizabeth (Megail) Rodriguez; great grandchildren, Mason, Mackenzie, Delilah, Tallulah, Braiden, Lydia, Jaxon, Levi, Brody, Savannah, Leland, Maddox, Nico; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM.
