Shirley Ann Clay Bowman

July 11, 1944 — June 13, 2005

Mrs. Shirley Ann Clay Bowman, 60, of Bennett Road, Powder Springs, Georgia passed away Monday, June 13, 2005 at her residence. She was born July 11, 1944, in Randolph County, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late G. B. Clay and the late Dovie White Clay. She was a member of True Gospel Baptist Church in Austell. Mrs. Bowman worked as a knitter in the textile industry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, C. B. Clay, Gordon Clay, Gerald Clay, Ray Clay, Douglas Clay and Leon Clay and two sisters, Hazel Newman and Mae Bell Linsey. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Robert Bowman, Sr. of Powder Springs; her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Robert Millians of Dallas; her son, Robert Bowman, Jr. of Powder Springs; sister, Reba Gray of Villa Rica; brother, Cecil Clay of Douglasville; 2 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 16, 2005 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Tommy Costner officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Primitive Cemetery in Villa Rica, Georgia. The family will be receiving friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Tuesday, June 14, 2005, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Wednesday, June 15, 2005 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM.
