Shirley Mae Hunt Sheffel

Mrs. Shirley Mae Hunt Sheffel, age 71, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was born July 7, 1936 in Florence, KY the daughter of the late Mr. Raymond Hunt and the late Mrs. Stella M. Goodwin Hunt. She married Leon A. Sheffel on September 14, 1957. She served for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and was a homemaker. She was a member of New Life Christian Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Sheffel. She is survived by her husband, Leon A. Sheffel of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Claude Adkins of Douglasville; 2 granddaughters, Rebecca Mae Adkins and Angela Lynn Adkins; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Charlene Hunt of Phoenix, AZ, Ed and Claudia Hunt of Arizona and Tom and Laverne Hunt of Phoenix, AZ; three sisters, Christine Truett of Northern Kentucky, Judy Delk of Florida, and Betty Williams of Douglasville; a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Services will be conducted at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Family Matters Ministry at New Life Christian Church, 5897 Presley Mill Road, Douglasville, Georgia 30135.
