Shirley McGee Painter

Mrs. Shirley McGee Painter, 70, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at her residence. She was born March 18, 1936 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Sadie McGee Lamb. Mrs. Painter was retired from Lockheed. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Temple, Georgia. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Painter was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leroy Painter and her brothers, Bobby Lamb and Jessie Lamb. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Joel Thomas Hart of Villa Rica; her son, Russell L. Painter of Villa Rica; her sisters, Becky Newman and Pam Lamb, both of Charleston, South Carolina; her brother, Randy Lamb of Georgia; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 22, 2006 at 11:00 AM from Concord Baptist Church in Temple, Georgia. Mrs. Painter will lie in state at the church for one hour preceding the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Winters, Dickie Buchanan, Mike Warner, Greg Hicks, James Williams and Dannie Palmer. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Cemetery in Temple, Georgia.
