Shirley Jaqueline Morris

Mrs. Shirley Jaqueline Morris, age 87, of Douglasville passed away Friday, March 22, 2024. She was born June 6, 1936 in Douglasville to the late Mr. Andy Blackstock and Mrs. Esma Giles Blackstock.

A pillar of strength and compassion, Shirley's unwavering love for the Lord shone through in every aspect of her life. She dedicated herself to helping others with a heart full of pure goodness, always willing to offer a helping hand and give whatever she could to those in need. Her selfless nature touched countless lives and left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Apart from her charitable endeavors, Shirley also found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished the thrill of a good yard sale. Shirley will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of kindness and benevolence will continue to inspire and uplift us.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Elmer Morris; son, Aaron Morris; brother, Marion Blackstock; sisters, Margaret Collier and Elsie Hall.

She is survived by daughters, Faye Morris (Gregory Sealock) of Rome, Cathy Poole of Powder Springs; son, Randy (Denise) Morris of Douglasville; sister, Nancy Eckel of Dallas; brother, Allen (Angie) Blackstock of Douglasville; grandchildren, Brandy Brackett, Aimie Sorrentino, Jacob Morris, Gabriel Hall, Tessa Graziano, William Poole; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00PM. The funeral service will take place at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ikey Watson and Rev. Marcus Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
