Mrs. Shirley Opal Lee Holcomb, 68, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Heartland Hospice in Austell. She was born December 18, 1939 in Cedartown, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. William Rayford Lee and the late Mrs. Annie McCurry Lee. She married Wendell Joseph Holcomb on February 7, 1958 in Temple, Georgia. She was of the Baptist Faith. After 32 years she retired from Bellsouth in Atlanta where she worked as an electronics technician. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Earl Lee. She is survived by her husband, Wendell Holcomb of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Dwayne Stowe of Conyers; sons and daughters-in-law, David Timothy Holcomb of Roundup, MT, Wendell Joseph "Joey" and Wanda Holcomb of Douglasville, and Kenneth Roger and Michelle Holcomb of Douglasville; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara Mae and James Edward Brown of Buchanan and Lula Carole Rogers of Cedartown; brothers and sisters-in-law, William Bryon and Ann Lee of Hiram, Bunyon Lamar and Phyllis of Tennessee, William Rayford Lee, Jr. and Debra Lee of Carrollton, and Arthur Harold and Pam Lee of Cedartown; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be conducted Sunday, January 27, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Tanner and Rev. Charles Gibbs officiating. Interment will follow at Northview Cemetery in Cedartown. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Saturday, January 26, 2008 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
