Shirley Burdette Tucker, age 83, of Douglasville, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022. She was born March 21, 1939, daughter of the late Mr. Marvin Andrew Burdett, Sr. and the late Mrs. Mary Garrett Burdett. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Douglasville of 60 years where she taught Sunday school and VBS. She was active in the Lighthouse Lymphedema support group and served on the board for several years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence Burdett, Marvin Andrew Burdette, Jr.; sisters, Juanita Queen, Carolyn Hallman, Barbara Jean Burdett; and three children.

She is survived by her daughter, Blyss (Stephen) Bogner; son, Wayne (Mellissa) Tucker, Jr.; grandchildren, Courtney (Josh) Woodard, Matthew Tucker, Brianna Bogner, Jordan Bogner, Hayden Bogner and Andrew Bogner; great grandchild, Jax Woodard; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life reception at Ephesus Baptist Church fellowship hall on October 22, 2022 from 2:30-4:30pm.

Flowers are welcome, and any other contributions can be sent to the Lighthouse Lymphedema Support Group, First Baptist Church of Douglasville children's department, or local library.
