Sondra Patrice Carter, age 57, affectionately known as "Carter," passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2024. She was born on January 27, 1967, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Mrs. Brenda Kladstrup.

Carter led a life marked by her unwavering independence and strength of spirit. With the help and support of her husband, Mr. Tony Carter, she pursued her passion for beauty and self-expression by attending beauty school, embarking on a fulfilling 30-year career as a hairdresser. Her dedication to her craft was evident in the joy she brought to her clients, ensuring they left her chair looking beautiful. A tough-as-nails go-getter, she embodied resilience and determination, traits that inspired many around her.

Family was the cornerstone of Carter's life. She took immense pride in her role as a Nana, her proudest accomplishment. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, passing on her values of hard work and independence. Beyond her professional and family commitments, Carter had a variety of interests that enriched her life. A devoted fan of Auburn sports – and in her quiet moments, she embraced reading books and had creativity for crocheting blankets. She enjoyed watching NCIS and often engaged in game sessions on her phone, activities that brought her relaxation and happiness.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Carter is preceded in death by her sisters, Annette Murdock and Joy Ashley.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Mr. Tony Kevin Carter; daughters, Tabatha Carter and Andrea (Roosevelt) Oliver; grandchildren, Gavin Terrell, Katie Terrell, Dezyree Barber, and Liam Oliver; brother, James Anthony Lusk; sisters, Lynise (Jeff) McSpadden, Heather Buck; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Carter was cremated. A private celebration of life will be held by her family at a later date.
