Stephen Early Russo

Mr. Stephen Early Russo, age 61, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, September 18, 2006 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He was born August 28, 1945 in Baton Rouge, LA the son of Mrs. Julia Early Russo and the late Mr. Steve Russo. He attended the First Baptist Church of Douglasville. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was the owner and operator of Steve Russo, Inc. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Lynne Leach Russo of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Emily Dedra and Wayne Down of Charlotte, NC; his mother, Julia Early Russo of Vestavia, AL; one sister and brother-in-law, Normandy and Neil Shirley of Chelsea, AL; one brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Richard F. and Tracey Russo of Pace, FL; 2 grandchildren, Matthew David Down of Douglasville and Kristen Lorian Down of Cleveland, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 1:00 PM from the First Baptist Church of Douglasville. Mr. Russo will lie in state at the church from 12:30 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta with Military Honors rendered by the U.S. Marine Corp Honor Guard. The following will serve as pallbearers: Richard Russo, Doug Lackey, Matthew Down, Richard Green, Donnie Nichols, and Neil Shirley. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
