Stephen Eugene McRoberts

Mr. Stephen Eugene McRoberts, age 63, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011. A native of Texas, he was born February 8, 1948 the son of Mrs. Joan Cassell Lovas and the late Mr. Loren McRoberts. He graduated from Justin F. Kimball High School in the Class of 1966. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He received a Business Management Degree from Max M. Fisher College of Business. Mr. McRoberts was a member of Pray’s Mill Baptist Church in Douglasville where he sang in the choir and served as a Sunday School Teacher for the one-year olds. He was a driver for Vistar Corporation for 15 years. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Barbara Holland McRoberts of Douglasville; daughters, Dawn Chandler of Dallas, TX, Bevin McRoberts of New Hampshire, Kasey and Eric Bishhoff of Massachusetts; Gina Brenner of Florida; Paige DeMuth of McDonough, GA; and Amanda Pierce of Kennesaw, GA; his mother Joan and Bill Lovas of Texas; brothers and sister-in-law, Larry McRoberts of Texas and Loren and Debbie McRoberts of California; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat and Mark Johnson of Texas, and Beth and Marv Armenta of Arizona; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 4:00 PM from Pray’s Mill Baptist Church in Douglasville with Pastor Josh Buice officiating. He will lie in state at the church from 3:00 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Pray’s Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
