Mr. Steven Paul Gardner, 52, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He was born March 15, 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of Mrs. Joanne C. Landrigan Gardner and the late Lt. Col. Jack Otto Gardner. He was a longtime member of Water of Life Church and attended West Metro Church of God and the Church at Chapel Hill. He worked in the customer service department for Kroger. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Otto Gardner, Jr. He is survived by his loving mother, Joanne C. Landrigan Gardner of Douglasville; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann and Mike Mitchell of Panama City, FL, Kathy and Robin Brown of Douglasville, Lorie and Randy Bomar of Winston, Maggie and Russell Roper of Douglasville, Linda and JR Miller of Douglasville; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Robin Gardner of Kodiak, Alaska, David Gardner of Winston, Dennis and Sandy Gardner of Douglasville, Patrick and Jeannie Gardner of Waco, Jimmy and Kristi Gardner of Douglasville, Jeffrey and Beth Gardner of Douglasville; 38 nieces and nephews; 17 great-nieces and great-nephews; several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 3:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Vic Rockhill, Jr. and Pastor Glenn Rountree officiating. Lorie Bomar will render the eulogy. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Cemetery with his brothers and brothers-in-law serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Tuesday, August 28, 2007 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions, the family of Steven Paul Gardner would like to request memorial donations be made to The Wellstar Foundation at Douglas. These donations will be used for future expansion of the Women’s Services at Wellstar Douglas.
