Stewart Johnston

Mr. Stewart M. Johnston, age 76 of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019. He was born March 21, 1943 in Aberdeen Scotland, the son of the late Mr. George Stewart Johnston and the late Mrs. Mary Margaret Flynn Johnston. Mr. Johnston worked as a counseling psychologist for the V.A. He was a big sports fanatic, especially a big fan of UGA football. He helped coach youth soccer and youth baseball for years. Mr. Johnston is survived by his wife, Sharon Gibbs Johnston; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Mike Weisenborn of Watkinsville, Georgia; sons and daughters-in-laws, Toby and Melissa Foster of Douglasville, Georgia, Drew and Diana Johnston of Decatur, Georgia, Geordie and Anna-Katherine Johnston of Marietta, Georgia; nine grandchildren, David and Jack Weisenborn, Madison and Trent Foster, Declan Johnston, Tripp, Wit, Addie, and Alec Johnston; sister and brother-in-law, Delaine and James Searey of Winston, Georgia; his beloved dog, Fritz; several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 2:00 PM from Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Sinyard officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
