Susan Lynn Freeman

Susan Lynn Freeman, 67, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. She was born on May 21, 1955. She is the daughter of the late Raymond James Mitchell and the late Geraldine Scott Mitchell.

Susan was an artist for Publix Grocery Stores and was always involved in any types of arts and crafts. She loved to cook and had a Cajun heart in the kitchen. Susan was a strong-willed woman who overcame numerous obstacles in life and never backed down. She was a recipient of a double lung transplant in 2009. Susan had a green thumb and could grow magically, beautiful flowers. She loved her family, especially her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Freeman is preceded in death by her brother, Ray Mitchell.

She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jerry Freeman; daughter, Dancie Freeman Briggs of Douglasville, Georgia; son, Chase Wayne Freeman and his wife, Jessica of Temple, Georgia; sister, Connie Price of Dahlonega, Georgia; sister-in-law, Jean Mitchell of Lithia Springs, Georgia; grandchildren, Madison Briggs, Maddax Bailey, Natalie Freeman, Dawson Freeman; great grandchild, Remington Frame; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel. The memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel.
