Sybil Rae Rainwater passed away December 6, 2017 after battling several illnesses. Sybil is survived by her husband, Jesse Rainwater. She is also survived by son Michael Frank Rainwater (Deborah), daughter Donna Armour (Charles), son Jeff Rainwater (Melody), and daughter Machelle Turner, sister Ruby Barrilleaux, sister Evelyn Moss (Reggie), and brother Denny (Patricia). Sybil has 10 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. Sybil was preceded in death by her parents J.C. and Anna Ainsworth, her brother Dale Ainsworth and brother Don Ainsworth. Sybil met her future husband Jesse, a young career United States Coast Guard man, over coffee and beignets at Café DuMonde in New Orleans 58 years ago. Their brief meeting led to a life shared together in many different coastal areas. Sybil and Jesse moved as often as every two years during Jesseâs 21-year Coast Guard career. They developed new and lasting friendships in all their new ports. They continued to move and make new friends in new places after Jesseâs retirement. There are rare moments when a special light comes to life on Earth. Sybil was caretaker of such a light throughout her 80 years. That light was expressed in her smile, her humor, and especially in her eyes. Sybil spread her special light to many friends through Avon sales; Sybil was an âAvon Ladyâ for 53 years. Benjamin Franklin once said âSome people die at 25 and arenât buried until 75.â No one would say that about Sybil. Sybil did not squander away her years. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
