Tamya Clark

December 1, 1959 — December 21, 2024

Douglasville

Tamya “Tammy” Bishop Clark, born on December 1, 1959, in Carrollton, Georgia, to the late Monroe Lee Bishop and Frances DeFoor Bishop, passed away suddenly on December 21, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, care, and devotion to her family and community.

She is survived by her dear husband of 46 years and high school sweetheart, Perry Scott Clark; daughters and sons-in-law, Katie and Joey Hatalla of Bremen, and Emily and David Drewski of Hiram; grandchildren, Elsie Ann and Scott; as well as cousins who were like siblings; nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

It was her life’s purpose and pleasure to care for children and families for over four decades. Tammy devoted her life to this calling, working as the director at KinderCare, Children Today, and the Sunshine House in Douglasville. Her heart was always with the families she served, and her work touched countless lives. She was a beloved member and Sunday School teacher at Beulah Baptist Church and Sunset Hills Baptist Church before that.

Tammy was a mom to many—not just to her own children but to everyone she encountered. Her kindness, generosity, and ability to make people feel loved and valued touched the hearts of everyone she knew.

Tammy had a deep love for the Bible, and we take comfort knowing she opened her eyes in Heaven and heard “Well done, my good and faithful servant”. This Christmas she is celebrating in a wonderful reunion with her family and her Savior, Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The International Mission Board in Tammy’s memory, or flowers are welcome.
