Thelma Lorine Payne

Mrs. Thelma Lorine Payne, 82, of Temple, Georgia passed away Monday, April 02, 2007 at her residence. She was born September 20, 1924 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the son of the late Mr. Charles Newton Finley and the late Mrs. Mary Frances Blackstock Payne. Mrs. Payne worked as a civil service secretary and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Payne, and brother, Robert Finley. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Roy Leavell of Temple, Georgia; son, Howard “Gene” Payne of New Hampshire; sister-in-law, Clara Marie Finley of Margate, Florida; two grandchildren, Erin Bennett and Stephanie Hebert; four great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Hebert, Megan Hebert, Adria Bennett, and Ayla Bennett; one niece, Carol Campagna; and one nephew, Robert Lee Finley, Jr. of Rhode Island. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Georgia with Pastor Asa Mangham officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta, Georgia. The family will be receiving friends in the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Tuesday, April 3, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
