Mrs. Thelma Naomi Watkins, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. She was born on March 17, 1933 in Atlanta, GA. Daughter to the late Mr. Western Plumley and the late Mrs. Gertrude Plumley. Thelma was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband, Mr. Ernest Watkins; sisters, Lucille Miller, Nettie Sheriff, Corrine Plumley.

Thelma is survived by her daughters, Cythia Thompson of Canton, Kathy (Oscar) Morris of Puerto Rico; sons, John (Debra) Matthews of Douglasville, Eddie Morris of Newnan, Jimmy Morris of Acworth, Dennis (Tonya) Morris of Canton; grandchildren, Kelly Renee Norman, Jennifer Denise Gomez, Tabitha Thompson, Samantha Thompson, Brian Morris, Justin Morris, Sherri Jones, Chrissy Schwab, Dello Morris, Cody Morris; and numerous great grandchildren.

Thelma's vibrant personality was felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kind heart and nurturing nature made her a pillar of strength in her community. Thelma had an infectious smile that could light up any room, and she had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved.

In addition to being a loving mother and grandmother, Thelma had many interests that brought her joy throughout her life. She had an undeniable passion for bingo, finding excitement in the game and cherishing the moments spent with friends playing it. Thelma was also an avid sports fan, faithfully cheering on the Atlanta Braves through their victories and defeats. Her loyalty extended to supporting her favorite college team as well – the University of Georgia Bulldogs.

Thelma Naomi Watkins will forever be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, as well as for the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all those who had the privilege of calling her a friend.
