Theodore Robert "Smitty" Schmidt

Mr. Theodore Robert “Smitty” Schmidt, 68, of White Rose Lane; Temple, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Heartland Hospice in Austell, Georgia. Mr. Schmidt was born August 6, 1939 in Wisconsin. He was of the Catholic faith and a Retired Veteran of the United States Army with twenty years of service having served during the Vietnam War. During his service, he received the following decorations: Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Schmidt was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Edna Young Schmidt; sons and daughter in-laws, Ronnie and Christine Adams of McDonough, Barry Adams of McDonough, and Steve and Connie Adams of Temple; and seven grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, November 2, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Georgia with Rev. Tim Stephens officiating. Interment will follow on Monday, November 5, 2007 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
