Mr. Thomas Leon Carr, Jr., age 57, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at his residence. He was born May 25, 1954 in Paris Island, South Carolina the son of Mrs. Geneva Young Carr and the late Mr. Thomas L. Carr, Sr. He worked as a police officer for Cook County and was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and he was an avid reader. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Thomas L. Carr, Sr. on January 22, 2010 and his brother-in-law, Dale Sheriff on February 5, 2006. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Chris Graff of Dahlonega; and Stephanie and Marc Mathis of Nashville, GA; his son, Thomas Britt Carr of Douglasville; his mother, Geneva Young Carr of Douglasville; two sisters and brother-in-law, Katherine âKathyâ Sheriff of Powder Springs and Karen and Roel Torres of Villa Rica; 4 grandchildren, Bradley Graff, Ethan Graff, Wyatt Mathis, and Tegan Mathis; several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the First Baptist Church of Douglasville with Dr. John Pennington officiating.
