Thomas Dixon Buchanan

Mr. Thomas Dixon “Dickie” Buchanan, 65, of Temple, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015. He was born September 5, 1950 in Villa Rica, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Watson Buchanan and the late Mrs. Mary Pauline Brown Buchanan. He was employed by Lockheed- and was a devoted member of Concord Baptist Church in Temple, where he served as an ordained deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Weaver Buchanan; and his father-in-law, Rev. James Olin Weaver. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Brian and Brandy Buchanan of Temple; sister and brother-in-law, Doreen and Michael Hannah of Temple; his mother-in-law, Shirley Maxine Sprayberry Weaver; two grandchildren, Bailey Buchanan and Brant Buchanan both of Temple; nieces and nephews, Laura Beth Hannah of Temple, John Hannah of Temple, Jeremy Pullen of Carrollton, Nick Pullen of Villa Rica, Stephanie Leathers of Dallas, and Christine Thompson of Villa Rica; several cousins also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Monday, November 23, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Concord Baptist Church with Minister Paul Richardson and Mr. John Henderson officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Susan Pullen. Interment will follow at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Don Rackley officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers: Brian Buchanan, John Hannah, Jimmy Hannah, Jeremy Pullen, Nick Pullen, and Mark McCravy. Honorary pallbearers will be John Henderson, Ronnie McLarty, Richard Howard, Ken Jones, Paul Harris, Chuck Neal and Tim Brown. In lieu of flowers, family requests that contributions be made in his memory to the Relay for Life, Paulding County Chapter, 3380 Chastain Meadows Parkway NW, Suite 200, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
