Thomas Edwin "Tom" Duncan

Mr. Thomas Edwin (Tom) Duncan passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 16, 2023.  He was the son of the late Mr. Samuel Kenneth Duncan and Mrs. Jeanette Morgan Duncan. He followed a long tradition in his family by joining the Navy in 1981. He was an electrician aboard the USS America for 6 years.

Tom was a Christian who showed his faith often through serving others. He was a faithful member of Midway Church in Villa Rica, Georgia for about 18 years, where he served on the parking lot team. Tom’s family was very important to him; he was a wonderful husband, father, and Pops.

Tom was a devoted friend who’s love often led to friends feeling like family. He was an avid cyclist, completing many century rides and riding thousands of miles per year. He also enjoyed obstacle course races and ran in the Peachtree Road Race 13 times.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother.

 He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Diane Williams Duncan, two sons and daughters-in-law - SSgt. Matthew & Sherri-Lyn Duncan and Rev. Blake & Emily Duncan of Villa Rica - and two grandchildren; one brother, Michael Duncan of Hartwell, GA, four nieces, along with many other family and dear friends.

The family will receive friend at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Chapel on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and at Midway Church on Saturday,

December 23, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at Midway Church on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Scott Gentry, Rev. Blake Duncan, and Dr. Kevin Rivers will officiate.

Immediately following the funeral service, interment will be at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens with Rev. Alan Trippe officiating.
