Thomas Furr

Mr. Thomas Eugene Furr, age 76, of Douglasville, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his residence. He was born March 30, 1937 in Little Rock, AR the son of the late Mr. Emmitt Daniel Furr and the late Mrs. Oza Mae Stephens Furr. He retired from the United State Armed Forces with 28 years of service. He served in the United States Marines, United States Navy and the United States Air Force. After his retirement he was employed as a crop duster and later reenlisted in the United States Air Force.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie Colleen Furr Paradis Bearden; sister, Charlene Furr.He is survived by his wife, Jenny Linda Barrett Furr of Douglasville; daughters, Deborah Lynn Furr Pope of Tampa, FL, Teresa Ann Furr Windsor Criswell of Douglasville; son, Emmett Daniel Furr, II of Winder; sister, Emma Gene Furr Studie of Arkansas; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.Memorial services were conducted Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with Full Military Honors.
