Thomas Herring

Mr. Thomas Ford Herring, age 69, of Winston, passed away, Thursday, June 29, 2017. He was born December 25, 1947 in Rome the son of the late Mr. John R. Herring and Mrs. Ruby Carr Herring. Mr. Herring served in the United State Navy on the USS Southerland during Vietnam. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin Herring and Hill Herring. He is survived by his wife, Toni Teresa Williams Herring of Winston; daughters and son-in-law, Stacy Herring of Carrollton, Lauren and Glenn Riner of Culpepper, VA, Gina Smith of Culpepper, VA, Shannon Herring of Georgia; son, Derek Herring of Georgia; mother, Ruby Carr Herring of Chamblee; sisters, Sheila Samples of Rome, Pat Justice of Marble Hill; brother, James Herring of Cedartown; his stepdaughter, Susie Hitchcock of Douglasville; several nieces and nephews also survive. According to Mr. Herring’s wishes he was cremated. Inurnment will be at a later date at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
