Thomas Jefferson Carden, Jr., 64, of Villa Rica, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. Mr. Carden was born November 23, 1943 in Polk County, Georgia; the son of the late Jeff Carden and the late Clara Carden Smith. Mr. Carden entered the United States Navy in 1964. In 1979 he was saved by the grace of God. He worked many years as a certified diesel master mechanic until 2001 when he retired due to health problems. He was a proud member of the Villa Rica American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Jewell Miller, Mary Bolden, and Louise Carden; and brother, Franklin Carden. Survivors include two daughters, Tennille Morrow of Heflin, Alabama, and Brittany Carden of Carrollton; sisters, Flora Mae Carden of Villa Rica, and Peggy Earwood of Cedartown; brother, Barry E. Carden of Atlanta; and one grandchild. As a final request, his body was cremated. A gathering of family and friends will hold a remembrance service Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 1:00 PM from Legion Lake in Villa Rica. Any cards and donation may be sent to Jones-Wynn Funeral Home.
