Tony Jack Johnston, Sr.

Tony Jack Johnston, Sr., 76, of Villa Rica, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023.  He was born on July 31, 1947. He is the son of the late Clarence Mitchell Johnston and the late Mary Lucille Johnston

Tony's proudest accomplishment was his role as Pawpaw. He possessed an unconditional love for his grandchildren that shone through every moment spent together. Tony was in the US Army where he served two tours in Germany over six years and carried the values instilled in him during his military service throughout his life. As a proud Army Veteran, Tony exemplified loyalty, honor, and selflessness.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Josephine Stevens.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tony (Janet) Johnston, Jr of Villa Rica; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda (Greg) Bryson of Cartersville and Sharon (Jason) Medlin of Carrollton; sisters, Reatha Elliott of Mableton, Mary Ann Sands of Douglasville; brothers, George Johnston of Bremen, Ricky (Cheryl) Johnston of Calhoun, Mickey Johnston of Mableton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special companion, Jane Farrar; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel.  Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 12:00 PM from Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
