Tony Dennis Martin, 58, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. He was born on April 16, 1955 in Fitzgerald, GA, the son of the late William Dennis Martin and the late Toni June Stone Martin. He was the owner and operator of Martin’s Painting & Decorating. He never met a stranger and fed more people than anyone can count. He was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a long-time supporter of Good Samaritan Baptist Mission, which reaches from Villa Rica, GA to Honduras and Nicaragua. Survivors include his wife, Becky Wilkie Martin of Douglasville; daughter, Paula Martin of Atlanta and her fiancé, John Woodard; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Ami Martin of Villa Rica; sister, Kim and her husband Roy Conner of Fitzgerald; brother, David Martin of Fitzgerald; and brother, Scott and his wife Shannon Martin, also of Fitzgerald. One beloved granddaughter, Emri, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM; Mr. Martin will lie in state on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Lamar Rackley, Rev. Lee Lawrence, and Rev. Tommy Crider officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to help Becky continue Tony's ministry of giving; donations can be made through Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 2433 Brownsville Road, Powder Springs, GA 30127 (designate "Martin family" in the memo line).
