Mr. Travis Phillips Vick, 82, of Lee Road, Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Monday, August 22, 2005 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital following an extended illness. He was born March 31, 1923 in Wilson, North Carolina the son of the late Mr. Julian Phillips Vick and the late Mrs. Evelyn Wilson Vick. He served as a medic in the U.S. Navy. He owned and operated Vicks Automotive Garage before he passed it down to his sons and has been a family owned business for 53 years. For 12 years he had Vicko Beach Recreation in Lithia Springs. He retired as a Real Estate Broker from Vicko Realty. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard Vick and Warner Vick. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Jean McKay Vick of Lithia Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Cristal and Steve Stancil of Canton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Phil and Vickie Vick, Greg and Wanda Vick, and Jeff and Lesia Vick all of Douglasville; two sisters, Inez Bratton of Virginia and Grace Everett of North Carolina; one brother, J.C. Vick of North Carolina; three sisters-in-law, Grace Hinson of Rome, Edith Bolton of Macon, Ann Barns of Riverdale and Myrtle Vick of Virginia; one brother-in-law, Charles McKay of McDonough; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 2:00 PM from Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs, Georgia with Pastor David McLendon and Mr. Steve Stancil officiating. Mr. Vickâs grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel on Tuesday, August 23,2005 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
