Mrs. Tressie Verdell Camp Swofford, 83, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Swofford was born October 5, 1921 in Haralson County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Oscar Camp and the late Mrs. India Sharpton Camp. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a seamstress and homemaker. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Swofford; her son, Luther Gerald Swofford; five brothers, Hardy Camp, Troy Camp, William Camp, Joel Camp, Marcus Camp and Edward Camp; two sisters, Pearl Huckaby and Thelma Clowers. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Noles of Roopville and Carolyn Key of Hillsboro; two sons, James Lovie Swofford of Winston and Ronald Swofford of Douglasville; one sister, Alma Jewell Alexander of Austell; two brothers, Eugene Camp of San Antonio, TX, and Buster Camp of Louisville, KY; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 21,2005 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with the Rev. Lynn Janney officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Monday, September 19, 2005 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Tuesday, September 20, 2005 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM.
